Georgia Department of Driver Services Makes License Renewal Easier with New Online Services
Atlanta, Georgia – The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) has introduced a new online service that makes it easier for residents to renew their driver’s licenses. The new online portal allows drivers to renew their licenses from the comfort of their own homes, eliminating the need to visit a DDS office in person.
The new online service is part of the DDS’s efforts to streamline the license renewal process and make it more convenient for Georgia residents. With the new online portal, drivers can renew their licenses in just a few simple steps. All they need to do is visit the DDS website, fill out the online renewal form, pay the renewal fee, and submit any required documentation. Once the renewal is processed, the new license will be mailed to the driver’s address on file.

The new online service is available to all Georgia residents who are eligible to renew their driver’s licenses. To be eligible for online renewal, drivers must meet certain criteria, such as having a license that is not expired for more than two years, having a valid Social Security number, and not having any outstanding fines or suspensions on their record. Drivers who are eligible for online renewal will receive a renewal notice in the mail with instructions on how to renew their license online.
In addition to the new online service, the DDS has also extended the expiration dates for driver’s licenses that were set to expire during the COVID-19 pandemic. The extension was put in place to help reduce the number of people visiting DDS offices in person and to prevent the spread of the virus. Visitors to the DDS offices are required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and sanitize their hands upon entering the building.
